This week has been a really mixed week. Most of your probably know that we've been parentless all week, as my little sister, Grace, has been in hospital with a urine infection and, more worryingly, a well established case of pneumonia, that had been undiagnosed for around 2 or 3 months, the medical team think.

What this week has shown me, and my family, just how important true friends are. I have been truly humbled by the amount of support and prayers I've received through my twitter page, mainly from 'unknown' people, known only through the 140 character conversations that frequently occur. To hear the warmth and the love that Grace has been given in this way has been incredible, and we are all, as a family, so thankful. As a family, too, our Facebook pages and phone inboxes have been a testament to the true value of friendship. Due to our friendship with Philippa Hanna (and the fact that Grace is her number 1 fan), there have been prayers on various walls, and lots of encouragement and testimonies being shared.

Mom and dad have had messages such as 'we're only an hour way, let us know if we can do anything', 'let me know if you need anything, shopping, babysitting, a hug'... all in all, this outpouring of love through the internet has been incredible, and has demonstrated clearly the selfless nature of TRUE friendship.

Then there has been the additional side effect of social media... because of Twitter, this happened of UCB UK's request show on Thursday:

How great is our God, that Grace would be prayed for, nationally, on air. A huge thank you must to out to everyone who has demonstrated this love with their comments and support. I don't think any of us would have got through this week if we had not had these comments to keep us going.

Then, yesterday, I received this email:

This was a reminder that God is working out His plan no matter what, and that He will never give us more than we can handle. I was reminded about the 'footprints' poem. If ever we've seen this in action, it has been this last week.

Looking forward, Grace is now at home, and the antibiotics SEEM to be working positively for her, but we have been warned of a long recovery time, with expected ups and downs along the way. We know that we are being held in His hands, and that Jeremiah 29:11 is so incredibly true now, as always.

Thank you all for all you do. God is SO good!

It's true! God really does change lives! It's amazing to hear that our church was packed with people; now we can only pray that the service touched people and that God will enter and transform their lives. It's nice to see a full church but infinitely better to know that lives have been changed. Romans 12:2

Exams

Sooooo tired! Big year with so much going on for me musically, but looking forward to Christmas when all my exams are over! Had a bit of a think this week about future job prospects and what I might end up doing. I always thought I would be a doctor, but at the moment music feels like home and the idea of sharing my faith through music as a living sounds awesome! Guess it's back to French exams and revision for the time being though, wish me luck :)
